What: NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., will hold its 2009 Combined Federal Campaign rally Oct. 27 — raising the bar on its annual charitable donation drive, part of the Tennessee Valley CFC effort. Members of the news media are invited to attend.
The Combined Federal Campaign is the federal government’s annual goodwill drive to benefit charitable organizations. The Marshall Center’s fundraising goal for 2009 is $625,000. As of Oct. 15, the center had already successfully raised more than $153,000. The 2009 drive concludes Dec. 11.
Who: Robin Henderson, Marshall Center Associate Director, will welcome guest speaker John Sweeney, regional director of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Georgia and Alabama; cheerleaders from the Madison County Middle School; and LifeStep, a Madison Academy singing group.

To attend, journalists must report to the Redstone Arsenal Joint Visitor Control Center at Gate 9, Interstate 565 interchange at Rideout Road/Research Park Boulevard. Vehicles are subject to a security search at the gate. Reporters will need two photo identifications and proof of car insurance. Visitor parking is available in front of Building 4200 on the southwest side.
