Media Advisory: 01-018

                           NASA's Marshall Center offers news
                           media preview of futuristic 'Starship
                           2040' exhibit

                            What:

In February, NASA's "Starship 2040" exhibit blasts off
on a seven-city Alabama tour. It may not escape
                                      Earth's gravity, but this full-sized mock-up of a
commercial passenger spacecraft -- as it might look in
the year 2040 -- will send visitors' imaginations straight
                                      into orbit.

NASA's Marshall Center, which developed the exhibit, is
providing a sneak preview to Huntsville area news
media representatives before Starship 2040 embarks
on its mission -- to entertain and inform the public about
NASA's space transportation goals and initiatives.
