What is a Lunar Eclipse?

This will be a very special show, previewing the Total Eclipse of the Moon occurring on
January 20,2000. This eclipse will be visible across all of North and South America in it’s
entirety. Please note that show time begins at 10:00am Pacific Time (or 1:00pm Eastern) as is
geared for Grade 2-12 audiences.

Pre-Launch Mission Overview

To extract the most accurate and useful information from radar echoes,
scientists need data that are calibrated.Desert areas, such as Death Valley,
provide an ideal background calibration because they are relatively smooth and vegetation free.
