WHAT: On Saturday, Oct. 16, scientists from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif., and other organizations will discuss the scientific evidence for global warming at a free public science symposium. The symposium is sponsored by the JPL Green Club. Experts will give brief talks on how climate change is affecting Earth’s atmosphere, ocean and ice, presenting evidence from satellites and other data sources. The symposium will also outline specific steps individuals can take to help address this issue. The presentations, which are geared toward adults, will be followed by question-and-answer periods. The event will be webcast live on JPL’s Ustream channel at: http://www.ustream.tv/NASAJPL2 .
