Description

NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for MODIFY VEHICLE ASSEMBLY BUILDING HIGH BAY 3 FOR SPACE LAUNCH SYSTEM. The work under this contract requires providing labor, equipment, and materials to modify the exisiting Vehcile Assembly Building (VAB) and construct ne vehicle acess platforms and related systems for the new Space Launch System (SLS). The primary deconstruction, demolition, and construction site is the VAB at Kennedy Space Center.

The order of magnitude for the procurement is greater than $10,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 752 calender days. The actual milestone schedule will be in the contract.

The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 238120 and $14M, respectively.

The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about 9/10/13 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about 11/28/13. (Dates are estimated at this time)

The firm date for receipt of bids or proposals will be stated in the RFP. Drawings will be available on FedBizzops at the time the RFP solicitation is issued. No hard copies will be provided.

All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.

The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement, with the exception of the specifications and drawings, will be available over the Internet.
