NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, Calif., and Salinas Valley
Memorial Hospital, Salinas, Calif., will announce an agreement to
work together on developing new technologies.
Under the terms of the collaboration, the NASA Ames BioVIS
(Biological Visualization, Imaging and Simulation) Technology Center
and Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital will focus on enhancing the
quality, accuracy and utility of medical technology. Officials will
announce details of the agreement at a news conference on Wednesday,
July 21, at noon PDT at the Cislini Plaza conference room in Salinas
Valley Memorial Hospital, 450 East Romie Lane, Salinas.
“Developing new, accurate medical knowledge will enable us to advance
medical science,” said NASA Ames Center Director G. Scott Hubbard.
Thomas Burnsides, director of diagnostic imaging at the Salinas
Valley Memorial Healthcare System, predicted that this could be “a
huge breakthrough in the field of diagnostic imaging.”
