The news media is invited to see how art meets function in the exhibition “Aerospace Design: The Art of Engineering from NASA’s Aeronautical Research” at the Pratt Manhattan Gallery in Manhattan. N.Y. on Thursday, Oct. 6.
The news media event is from 10 to 11 a.m. EDT, Thursday. The exhibition opens Friday and runs through Dec. 17. The gallery is at: 144 West 14th Street, New York.
Curators of the exhibit will give the news media a preview and guided tour. The exhibition includes more than 100 artifacts from NASA’s historic collection. The exhibition illustrates the importance of industrial design, architecture and engineering in the history and evolution of aviation and space travel.

Many of these items on exhibit are being made available to the public for the first time. The curators are: John Zukowsky, chief curator of the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum; Tom Dixon, director of the Aerospace Design exhibition for NASA; and Tony Springer, director of NASA’s Centennial of Flight Activities.
