NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia will hold a tornado emergency exercise Tuesday, March 22, in conjunction with Virginia’s state emergency management teams.
Sometime after 10 a.m., a simulated tornado warning will be issued for NASA Langley, and local residents living near the center may hear a test of the siren system. The exercise will end with the second siren test.
The exercise activities should not interfere with normal NASA Langley operations or access to the center. The exercise will be rescheduled if severe weather is forecasted or approaching the local area.
The statewide tornado drill is an annual test of public warning systems to prepare citizens for tornado emergencies.
