NASA JSC Director and Congressman Tom DeLay to Brief Media on Results of Exploration Systems Architecture Study

House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX) will join Johnson Space Center Director Jefferson D. Howell, Jr. at 11 a.m. CDT Monday, Sept. 19, to discuss the results of NASA’s Exploration Systems Architecture Study. Media must be present to participate.

The briefing follows a 10 a.m. CDT overview by Administrator Michael Griffin that will originate from NASA Headquarters, Washington D.C., and be broadcast on NASA Television.

Media planning to attend the event should contact the JSC Newsroom, 281/483-5111, by 10 a.m. CDT Monday to arrange credentials. The availability will take place in the public affairs media briefing room at JSC. Media should be in place at JSC no later than 10:45 a.m. CDT.

On January 14, 2004, President George W. Bush set a bold Vision for Space Exploration that instructed NASA to return the space shuttle to safe flight, complete the International Space Station, return to the moon and continue on to Mars.

The study commissioned by Administrator Michael Griffin is the blueprint from which NASA will build the nation’s future spacecraft and launch vehicles to meet the goals and objectives outlined by the President.
