NASA will host a news media event at 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. EST on Friday, January 29, in buildings 28 and 29 at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, for an in-depth discussion of the James Webb Space Telescope.
Reporters will attend a short hyperwall video graphics presentation and learn about the science behind the mission, and then see the world’s largest cleanroom where the 18 flight primary mirror segments are being assembled onto the Webb telescope. Scientists and engineers will be available for interviews.
The Webb telescope will study every phase in the history of our Universe, ranging from the first luminous glows after the Big Bang, to the formation of planetary systems capable of supporting life on planets like Earth, to the evolution of our own Solar System and beyond.
