“Exploration to Commercialization: Going to Work in Space,” is the theme for the 46th Robert H. Goddard Memorial Symposium to be held March 4 – 6, at the Greenbelt, Marriott. The American Astronautical Society (AAS) sponsors this annual event.

On the eve of NASA’s 50th Anniversary, this symposium brings together leaders in government, industry, academia, and entrepreneurs to consider the history and current state of space exploration and commercialization, and collectively discuss new plans and prospects for the future of humanity in space.

NASA Administrator Dr. Michael Griffin will present the opening keynote address the morning of March 5. Presentations will also include perspectives on NASA’s 50th anniversary and a look at the emerging space adventure industry. Keynote speaker to open the second day of presentations will be Dr. John Marburger III, Science Advisor to the President and Director, Office of Science and Technology Policy.

Symposium sessions are open to all credentialed media. News media representatives are requested to confirm their plans to attend the event by contacting Jim Kirkpatrick of AAS at 703-866-0020.
