GREENBELT, MD – NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) has awarded its highest honor for quality and technical performance to three companies that have contributed significantly to the center’s mission.
The 2008 Goddard Contractor Excellence Awards were given in the product and service categories. Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corporation of Boulder, Colorado won the award for the large business product category. ADNET Systems, Inc. of Rockville, Maryland and Capitol Technology Services Inc. of Washington, DC were both selected in the small business service category.
The awards will be presented at an awards ceremony at Goddard on September 10. Each winner will receive a trophy consisting of a scale model of Robert H. Goddard’s original liquid fuel rocket with a company specific inscription.
“These companies are outstanding examples of the strong and vital partnership NASA has with private industry” said Acting GSFC Center Director Rick Obenschain. “This award demonstrates the Center’s commitment to promote excellence and continual improvement by challenging Goddard’s contractor community to be a global benchmark of quality management practices.”
Goddard also will recognize four other finalists who will receive finalists’ plaques. These companies are: Honeywell Technology Solutions Incorporated of Columbia, Maryland; LJT & Associates of Columbia, Maryland; Parsons Corporation of Pasadena, California; and Sigma Space Corporation of Lanham, Maryland.
