CLEVELAND — NASA’s Glenn Research Center will participate in a statewide tornado drill and test its outdoor notification and public address system at Lewis Field at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, as part of Ohio’s Severe Weather Awareness Week.
The test will last approximately 3 minutes. The tornado warning siren as well as a corresponding pre-recorded voice message will be activated for this drill. While the warning system is meant to alert center employees, the sound may also be audible in the neighborhoods surrounding the center.
Glenn’s outdoor mass notification system is used to warn employees and visitors of severe weather, workplace incidents and emergencies.
