CLEVELAND – NASA’s Glenn Research Center will celebrate the achievement of receiving its one-hundredth R&D 100 Award from R&D Magazine. This significant milestone, achieved in October 2007, demonstrates the overall technical excellence of the Glenn staff. The event will be held at the 100th Bomb Group Restaurant at 11 a.m. on Feb. 5.

Glenn Center Director Dr. Woodrow Whitlow Jr. and Tim Studt, publisher and editor of R&D Magazine will speak to the importance of R&D 100 awards to the center and the significance of Glenn’s contributions to the awards, respectively. All current employees who have received the award, over the 41 years that Glenn has participated, have been invited to attend. Additionally, the individuals on Glenn’s 2007 winning teams will be recognized.

R&D 100 Award winners are recognized by the editors of R&D Magazine and a panel of outside experts for developing products that rank among the top 100 most technologically significant products of the year. These prestigious awards have been called “The Oscars of Invention.”
