CLEVELAND — NASA’s Glenn Research Center is opening the doors to its Plum Brook Station in Sandusky for a public open house this weekend, May 31 and June 1, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. to commemorate NASA’s 50th anniversary.
Visitors are invited to enjoy a guided bus tour of the 6,400-acre campus. The tour includes stops for visitors to walk through several world-class test facilities including the Space Power Facility, home of the world’s largest vacuum chamber, and the Spacecraft Propulsion Facility, referred to as the B-2, where full-scale rocket engines have been tested prior to being flown in space. There will also be exhibits, demonstrations and hands-on activities for the children.
Free parking for the public is off site at Route 250 and Fox Road. After going through security, there will be a free shuttle bus to take guests to Plum Brook Station and return them at the end of their visit.
