Creating jobs, increasing household earnings and spending for goods and
services purchased from Ohio companies are just a few ways NASA Glenn Research
Center has made a direct impact locally and statewide.
On Friday, September 8
at 10 a.m. in the Glenn Visitor Center Auditorium, media representatives are
invited to a briefing, tour and luncheon announcing the results of a recently
completed Economic Impact Study.
Media representatives planning to attend
all, or a portion of the events, should call the Media Relations Office at
(216) 433-2901 by close of business today, September 6.

Participants will be:

  • Dr. Ziona Austrian, Principal Investigator of the Study, Cleveland State
    University
  • Pat Valente, Deputy Director, Technology Division, Ohio Department of
    Development

  • Gerry Barna, Acting Deputy Director, NASA Glenn
  • Dr. Woodrow Whitlow, Director, Research and Technology, NASA Glenn
  • Jo Ann Charleston, Chief, Educational Programs Office, NASA Glenn
  • Dr. Larry Viterna, Commercial Technology Officer, NASA Glenn

Following the briefing, media representatives will have an opportunity to
tour two facilities highlighting the direct impact on research contributions
and spending activities tied to the report.
