CLEVELAND — The employees at NASA’s Glenn Research Center will celebrate the historic final space shuttle launch on Friday July 8, starting at 10:30 a.m. in the hangar at Lewis Field. The event will feature remarks by senior leaders, a video compilation of space shuttle launches, and NASA TV coverage of the launch scheduled for 11:26 a.m.

The crew aboard space shuttle Atlantis on the 12-day mission to the International Space Station will be Commander Chris Ferguson, Pilot Doug Hurley, and Mission Specialists Sandy Magnus and Rex Walheim.

This 37th shuttle mission to the space station will carry the Raffaello multipurpose logistics module to deliver supplies, logistics and spare parts for the station.

The 30-year Space Shuttle Program has included 135 missions, and Atlantis will be making its 33rd flight.
