NASA’s Johnson Space Center (JSC), Houston, has exercised an option to extend a level-of-effort, cost-plus-award-fee contract with DynCorp Technical Services of Fort Worth, Texas, to support the maintenance and modification of JSC aircraft. The estimated cost, including maximum award fee, is $26.7 million.

This action exercises Option 3 for the fifth year of the Aircraft Maintenance and Modification Program, extending the period of performance to Feb. 29, 2004. The estimated cost and maximum award fee of the entire contract, including Option 3, is $118.6 million.

Under the contract, DynCorp maintains all assigned equipment on airframes, engines, appliances and support equipment. The contractor performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, preventative maintenance, rebuilding and alterations of aircraft, appliances, engines and support equipment.

The work will be performed principally at JSC’s Ellington Field and at NASA facilities at El Paso, Texas; Edwards Air Force Base, Calif.; Kennedy Space Center, Fla., and Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va.
