NASA’s Science Mission Directorate, Solar System Division, Washington, selected the Space Science Institute, Ridgefield, Conn., for a grant to support the Outer Planets Research Program.
The Outer Planets Research program supports diverse scientific investigations that contribute to the understanding of the outer Solar System, ranging from the asteroid belt to the Kuiper Belt. The program includes both fundamental research and data analysis from NASA missions. The maximum grant value is $373,816.
The research also supports the Vision for Space Exploration, NASA’s long- term plan to return astronauts to the moon and extend exploration to Mars and beyond.
