NASA has awarded a contract to Stinger Ghaffarian Technologies (SGT), Inc., of Greenbelt, Maryland for support of various science programs and projects at the agency’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt.
This is a cost-plus fixed fee, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity task order contract with a minimum value of$1 million and a maximum value of $97 million. The contract has a five-year ordering period beginning Aug 1. Individual efforts may extend beyond five years.
As the Geophysics, Geodynamics and Space Geodesy support contractor, Stinger Ghaffarian Technologies will provide specialized support to Goddard’s Earth Sciences Directorate in the areas of geodynamic, geomagnetic, geophysical and atmospheric investigations of solar system bodies such as Earth, Venus, Mars and Mercury.
Support activities include: instrument development; software development and maintenance; data collection, archiving and dissemination; scientific data analysis, modeling and interpretation; reports and presentations of scientific results; public outreach and education; and, associated technical and administrative work.
The contractor will support current programs and projects, such as:
Mercury Surface, Space Environment, Geochemistry, and Ranging (MESSENGER)
Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO)
Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO)
Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution (MAVEN)
Ice, Cloud, and Land Elevation Satellite 2 (ICESat-2)
Space Geodesy Project
Future missions will include, but are not limited to, Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT), GRACE Follow-On, the NISAR (NASA ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar) mission, and the Sentinel-3A/3B, a European Space Agency mission.
The principal work will be performed at Goddard and at the contractor’s Greenbelt facility.
