NASA selected Wackenhut Services, Inc., Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., to provide fire protection services at the agency’s Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, Calif.
The contract has a one-year base period plus four one-year options, with a maximum value of $38.7 million.
The work includes operating the Ames Fire Department and performing fire suppression services; aircraft rescue and fire fighting services; supporting the Ames emergency preparedness program; serving as a member and participant in the Santa Clara County Fire Rescue Mutual Aid Plan; emergency medical services; hazardous materials response services; technical rescues’ services; training, fire prevention planning and public education.
