NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center is participating in the 2018 Los Angeles airshow March 24 and 25 with an F-18, F-15, G-III and a T-34 aircraft on display beside the NASA tent with exhibits and pilots signing autographs.
The exhibits include a photo booth with a Moon or Mars background, subscale research aircraft, and displays for Airborne Science in coordination with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and NASA Ames Research Center, partner with Armstrong for SOFIA, both from California. Other NASA exhibits inside the tent are life support for aircraft, Unmanned Aircraft in the National Air Space and New Aviation Transformation begins with the Low Boom Flight Demonstrator and the X-57 all-electric aircraft.
On March 25, a Heroes and Legends talking panel will be held from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. where NASA will be joining the SR-71 Blackbird panel discussion with NASA’s Armstrong’s Director for Flight Operations and test pilot, Dana Purifoy and John McKay, retired, NASA Armstrong aircraft maintenance branch.
