Astronomers will announce a significant discovery from NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope at a listen-and-logon news briefing Wednesday, April 20, at 1 p.m. EDT. The new finding involves a star about the size and age of our sun, with another intriguing similarity.

The Spitzer Space Telescope is part of NASA’s Great Observatories program, which includes the Hubble Space Telescope, the Chandra X-ray Observatory and the previously operating Compton Gamma Ray Observatory.
JPL, a division of Caltech, manages the Spitzer mission for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate. Science operations are conducted at the Spitzer Science Center, Pasadena.
