MOFFETT FIELD, Calif. – – News media are invited to attend the signing of an important milestone in a new relationship under development between NASA’s Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, Calif., and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), South Korea’s premier research and education institution, on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008 at Ames.
Following up on the visit of Ames Center Director, S. Pete Worden to Korea in October 2007, the two institutions have now agreed to initiate technical discussions on specific areas of potential collaboration involving small satellite research and development. These potential areas for future collaboration include satellite communication and navigation systems, planetary exploration, lunar science, rovers, small satellites and related technologies.
WHAT: Signing of a memorandum for the record between NASA Ames and the KAIST confirming specific areas of mutual interest in small satellite research and other scientific development activities.
WHERE: NASA Ames Research Center, Exploration Center, the large white dome located at the main gate, NASA Ames.

To reach NASA Ames, drive on U.S. 101, exit at Moffett Field/NASA Parkway, drive east on Moffett Boulevard towards the main gate. Before reaching the gate, bear right towards the large white dome, the NASA Exploration Center, and park behind the dome.
