Jim Kennedy, director of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center
(KSC) in Florida, and Brig. Gen. Select Mark Owen, commander
of the Air Force’s 45th Space Wing, will address the media
Saturday on preparations for Hurricane Ivan. The telephone
news conference will be held at 10:30 a.m. EDT.
KSC; Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla.; and Patrick Air
Force Base, Fla., are working to secure damaged facilities
before Ivan’s possible arrival. Kennedy and Owen will discuss
those activities, as well as the status of space flight
hardware, post-Hurricane Ivan plans, and instructions for the
work force.
