NASA Administrator Michael Griffin will deliver remarks May 18 at Space at the Crossroads, a one-day conference for the D.C. space and policy community presented by the Space Foundation and Space News. The unique, one-day event provides a focused agenda of all things “space,” and takes place at the U.S. Navy Memorial and Naval Heritage Center on Pennsylvania Avenue.
Griffin will participate as the featured speaker. Confirmed by the Senate April 14th, Griffin is moving rapidly in establishing his team and priorities for NASA, returning the Space Shuttle to flight, and executing the Vision for Space Exploration. “Given the many significant demands on Mike Griffin right now, we are very pleased that he can address our Space at the Crossroads Conference. His participation will help put an exclamation point on the issues the conference will address and Mike’s administration will face,” said Dan Stone, president and chief executive officer of Space News’ parent company Imaginova, Inc.
“We’re delighted the administrator can join us,” said Space Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer Elliot G. Pulham. “With the Space Shuttle’s return to flight slated for late May, and other ongoing efforts supporting the Vision for Space Exploration, the insights of Mike’s first month on the job should be invaluable.”
Space at the Crossroads is presented in association with the U.S. Department of Commerce, Satellite Industry Association, National Space Society and Washington Space Business Roundtable. This is the third year for the program, which is designed to provide a focused space industry update for Congressional, administration, and agency staff and the aerospace/defense and contractor community.
In addition to Griffin, the agenda includes senior Congressional staff, industry and national security representatives. Complete program details and on-line registration are available at www.SpaceCrossroads.org. The first 150 registrants will also receive a complimentary networking luncheon at The Caucus Room. A reception at the Navy Center will close the day’s activities.
