HAMPTON, Va. – The award-winning NASA 360 TV program has broken the one-million mark in downloads. The total as of Aug. 14, 2009, is 1,074,088 for the 30-minute show that explores NASA’s contributions to everyday life.
“This accomplishment is truly remarkable in less than one year,” said Michael Finneran NASA 360 executive producer at NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va.
“Our crew would like to thank all involved with the success of this program, said Mike Bibbo, NASA 360 senior producer at the National Institute of Aerospace (NIA) in Hampton, Va., which produces the program for NASA. “It really has been a great year. We are wrapping on our 13th program and look forward to producing many more.”
NASA 360 was launched last September on the nasa.gov site and is consistently one of the top downloaded programs. It also airs on more than 450 TV stations across the country. The program has garnered numerous awards, including a regional Emmy, one of the best-known awards in television.
NASA 360 is one of four programs in NASA’s award-winning eClipsTM suite of web-based shows designed to encourage careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
