Apple Hosts SuperBowl TV Spot Online Available for a Limited Time at missiontomars.movies.com
While Touchstone Pictures’ exciting
big screen “Mission To Mars” movie does not open until March 10, 2000, space enthusiasts every where will have online access to the “Mission To Mars” television
ad developed specifically for this year’s SuperBowl XXXIV.
From Jan. 30 through March 10, the television spot, hosted online by Apple, can be downloaded exclusively in QuickTime at www.missiontomars.movies.com, the
official Web site of “Mission To Mars.”
The “Mission To Mars” movie Web site will not only provide the awe-inspiring television ad, but also brings site visitors an exciting online adventure game starting
Feb. 7, that puts them in the heart of the Mars mission.
Sponsored by Lockheed Martin, the online challenge encompasses a combination of Shockwave game activities and questions/answers, that invite guests to join the
adventure by navigating their spaceship to Mars — including lift-off, deep space travel and Mars landing — and establishing a base camp.
A new segment of the game will be unveiled each week, bringing the player closer to accomplishing their mission.
Successful “mission commanders” are entered in a sweepstakes for a chance to win a variety of “Mission to Mars” related prizes. One lucky prizewinner will take
home an autographed cast chair and script, both autographed by Brian De Palma. The sweepstakes runs from Feb. 7 to March 31.
The “Mission To Mars” movie site houses a wide variety of “Mars”-related excitement and information, including a movie trailer, the challenging six-part “Mission
to Mars” Adventure game, movie information, regularly updated exclusive movie stills and production sketches, as well as links to a variety of science-oriented Web
