WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. — Representatives from NASA and Alliant Techsystems, or ATK, will hold a media teleconference Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. EDT to discuss this morning’s failure of a rocket launch carrying two NASA hypersonic experimental payloads.

At 5:10 a.m. Friday the rocket was destroyed by range safety officials after liftoff from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. No injuries or property damage have been reported.
