The 2011 meeting for the High Energy Astrophysics Division (HEAD) of the American Astronomical Society (AAS) will be held in Newport, Rhode Island, at the Newport Marriott Hotel from Wednesday, September 7, through Saturday, September 10.

This year’s conference will feature results from missions in space such as NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory, Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope, and Swift, as well ground-based facilities including HESS, VERITAS, and others. The HEAD Dissertation Prize and David N. Schramm Award for High Energy Astrophysics Journalism will be presented during the banquet on Thursday evening, September 8. More than 300 astronomers are expected at the meeting.
