CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — Media are invited to cover space shuttle Endeavour’s scheduled move from Orbiter Processing Facility Bay 2 to the Vehicle Assembly Building on Friday, April 10 at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, Fla., for its upcoming STS-127 mission to the International Space Station. The first motion of the shuttle out of its hangar is set for 7 a.m. EDT.
Reporters must arrive at Kennedy’s news center by 6 a.m. Friday for transportation to the viewing area. Dates and times of this event are subject to change. Updates are available by calling 321-867-2525.
New accreditation for international media is closed for this event. U.S. media without permanent Kennedy Space Center credentials must apply online by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, at:
Badges must be picked up by 4 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at the Kennedy Badging Office on State Road 405.
The move from Endeavour’s hangar is referred to as a “rollover.” Following rollover, Endeavour is scheduled to be rolled out to Kennedy’s Launch Pad 39B on April 17. There it will be on standby to be used in the unlikely event that a rescue mission is necessary during space shuttle Atlantis’ upcoming mission to NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope. Atlantis is targeted to launch May 12.
