Media and the public are invited to view a six-day virtual technical seminar, Feb. 19 to 21 and Feb. 25 to 27, hosted by the NASA Aeronautics Research Institute (NARI) to showcase innovative and revolutionary concepts developed by NASA researchers.
The seminar will include presentations about concepts for nuclear-powered and pilotless aircraft and “hoppers,” battery-powered helicopters for mass transit in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
“I am excited by this opportunity for innovative NASA aeronautics researchers to showcase their work,” said NARI Director Michael Dudley. “This is a unique opportunity for the aeronautics technical community and the general public to view over the Internet some of the ingenious concepts being developed by NASA.”
NASA’s Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, Calif., hosts the NARI virtual institute. NARI awards seedling grants from NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate to fund early-stage and potentially revolutionary aviation concepts and technologies that are aligned with NASA’s mission. The seminar is an opportunity for members of the NASA aeronautics community and the public to view the results of this research and see how these innovative concepts might complement and benefit projects across the agency.
