MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (“MDA” or the “Company”) (TSX:MDA), a global communications and information company, announced today that it has signed a contract with DigitalGlobe, Inc., to expand its existing direct access ground systems to include the ability to task, downlink, and process imagery from the WorldView-3 and GeoEye-1 satellites.
MDA has also signed an agreement to become DigitalGlobe’s preferred supplier of ground station solutions offered to international customers. This is an update to an agreement announced in December 2006. MDA’s solution enables customers to directly access the optical imaging capabilities of the supported satellites to obtain timely and accurate geospatial data that is critical for decision-making.
Don Osborne, MDA’s group vice president of Information Systems said, “We are excited to renew our long-standing partnership agreement, which allows DigitalGlobe and MDA to deliver systems enabling direct access to DigitalGlobe’s satellite constellation that provide the world’s highest resolution commercial imagery.”
