What: Think Mars conference

When: Friday, Oct. 20, through Sunday, Oct. 22

Where: Building 34, Room 101 and Kresge Auditorium on the MIT campus

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — A prototype Mars Suit and an authentic Apollo Space
Suit will be on display during a three-day Mars Week conference at MIT this
weekend.

Friday night and Saturday events are scheduled for Building 34, Room 101.
Sunday afternoon sessions in Kresge Auditorium will include Kids Time,
featuring a small carnival, rover displays and educational booths.

The student-run conference was planned by members of the Think Mars
initiative and the International Mars Society, with the support of

Venturefuge, MIT’s Large Event Funding committee, the Boulder Center for
Science and Policy, and MIT’s Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Speakers include Robert Zubrin, International Mars Society president and
author of The Case for Mars; David McKay, principal investigator in the
search for life in the Martian meteorite ALH84001; Donna Shirley, project
manager for the Mars Sojourner; and Chris McKay, world renowned
astrobiologist.
