Martin Supporting Global Business Event

Space industry
giants have signed up to sponsor major events at
the International Space Symposium, Space
Foundation officials announced today. The
International Space Symposium is a gathering of
global space business leaders scheduled for
October 24-26, 2000 at the Reagan Center in
Washington, DC.

Astrium, the company formed from the recent
merger of Daimler-Chrysler Space and Matra
Marconi Space, will sponsor the closing
International Space Symposium Dinner on October
26. Mr. Armand Carlier, chairman and CEO of
Astrium, will serve as host of the dinner, which
is the culminating event of the three-day
conference.

The Boeing Company is the sponsor of the
symposium Opening Ceremony and Luncheon on
October 24. Invited featured speakers for the
luncheon are U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine
Albright and NASA Administrator Daniel Goldin.
Later that day, Intelsat will welcome the world
to the International Space Symposium at the
Opening Night Reception in the Exhibit Halls.

Lockheed Martin has opted for two symposium
sponsorships: the Media Center which will serve
print, broadcast, interactive and trade media
from around the globe, and the International
Coffee Hour, which follows the Future Focus
Luncheon.

The broad business orientation of the symposium
is recognized by SpaceVest’s sponsorship of the
Business Networking Luncheon, slated for the
exhibit hall on October 26 and Marsh Space
Projects’ sponsorship of symposium registration.

In a unique offering at the symposium, Space.com
will host the cyberSPACE Café for espresso,
email and Internet news. Space.com is also the
official website sponsor for the International
Space Symposium site (www.spacesymposium.org).

The International Space Symposium is presented
by the Space Foundation in association with the
American Astronautical Society and more than 20
participating agencies and supporting
organizations.

Confirmed keynote speakers are Yasuo Otaki,
President Asia-Pacific Satellite Communications
Council and President, TELEC Japan; Vance
Coffman, Chairman and CEO, Lockheed Martin
Corporation and Antonio Rodota, Director General
of the European Space Agency.
