NASA’s Glenn Research Center Director Jim Free announced the appointment of Lynda D. Glover as director for the Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity, effective March 23. She serves as Free’s principal advisor and advocate on matters concerning Glenn’s equal opportunity policy and programs.

“Lynda’s passion for advancing Glenn’s efforts to be a model center for equal employment opportunity is a valuable asset,” said Free.

In her new position, Glover will be responsible for leading and managing all phases of Glenn’s Diversity and Equal Opportunity Programs, including promoting inclusive work place practices and equal opportunity in employment; eliminating equal employment opportunity barriers and workplace conflicts; and providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities.

Most recently, Glover served as the diversity program management specialist for Glenn’s Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity. In this role, she oversaw the diversity and inclusion efforts including strategic planning and identifying and recommending training and other activities. She also served as Glenn’s Disability Program Manager, where she worked with employees and managers to identify workplace solutions for employees and applicants with disabilities.

Glover, a native of Grand Rapids, Mich., earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology in 1983 from Jackson State University, Miss., and a Master of Arts in organizational management in 1998 from Dallas Baptist University, Texas. In 2003, she received the Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from the HR Certification Institute.
