The rescheduled Mars landing site workshop meeting will take place on
October 17th and 18th, 2001 at the Courtyard Marriott in Pasadena. The
Courtyard Marriott is located at 180 N. Fair Oaks Ave., Pasadena, CA,

Attendees are responsible for making their own travel arrangements.
Sleeping rooms are being held at the government rate ($99/night) and
attendees should reference “Mars Landing” when making reservations. The
cut-off date for taking advantage of the rooms at this rate is October 3rd.
Any problems encountered when booking a room should be directed to Ms. Pat
McClane at 818 354-5556. Other inquiries should be directed to Matt
Golombek at 818-393-7948.

The objectives for the workshop remain unchanged and most of the original
program will be employed. All of the talks that were to be presented in
Ithaca will be presented at the meeting in Pasadena. There will, however,
be minor adjustments and the schedule will be expanded to two full days in
order to ensure ample time for discussion. A revised program reflecting
these minor changes will also be sent out in the near future.

Please notify John Grant (grantj@nasm.si.edu) and Matt Golombek (
mgolombek@jpl.nasa.gov) no later than October 3rd if you plan to attend the
meeting. We hope that you will be able to attend the rescheduled workshop
and will continue to participate in the landing site selection process for
the MER 2003 mission.
