SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 14, 2002 — Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company
has selected Daniel (Dan) Crowley, an executive with 19 years of experience
in government and commercial programs, as vice president, Business
Development and Advanced Programs, for Missiles & Space Operations in
Sunnyvale, Calif.
In his new role, Crowley will be responsible for managing the Missiles &
Space Operations business development team and all business development
activities, including strategic planning, customer contacts, campaign
oversight and proposal development. He will lead the planning, analysis and
integration of future investment alternatives, including technology and core
business opportunities.

critical national programs will be valuable to our goal of delivering
innovative solutions and mission success for our customers,” said Len
Kwiatkowski, executive vice president of Programs for Missiles & Space. “His
extensive business development experience and familiarity with our customers
will serve us well as we strengthen our long-term competitive posture and
enhance strategies on near-term opportunities.”

Crowley joined Lockheed Martin in 1983. He most recently served as vice
president, Business Development of the Theater High Altitude Area Defense
(THAAD) program where he helped the team achieve successful Missile and
System Preliminary Design Reviews as part of the THAAD Engineering and
Manufacturing Development Program.

Other key assignments include vice president for GEO programs at Commercial
Space Systems where he led teams responsible for the design, development,
production and on-orbit check-out of 12 geostationary spacecraft and
associated ground stations. He also served as site director and plant
manager for Space Systems Company’s San Diego Operations where his team
achieved 100 percent on-time delivery and mission success for the Atlas
booster, Atlas Centaur, and Titan Centaur programs.

Dan has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Systems Engineering
from the University of Texas at Austin. In 2000-2001, he attended the Sloan
Fellowship Program at Stanford University, where he earned an M.S. in
Management.
