At 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 11, a ribbon cutting ceremony will mark the
opening of Kennedy Space Center’s new Web Broadcasting Facility at the Press
Site.
The new facility, which incorporates a TV studio, will use live broadcasting
via the World Wide Web and exclusive programming to bring the public closer
to KSC than ever before. Interested space fans from around the world will be
able to follow launches, landings and other KSC events in a real-time
environment. Adding to the excitement and educational value, an interactive
chat feature will allow anyone watching to submit a question to be answered
by featured experts.
Located in the News Center at the KSC Press Site, the Web Broadcasting
Facility is an example of the cooperation and teamwork between NASA and its
contractor teammates to create an informative and enjoyable product that
will encourage online visitors to stay tuned.
Speakers at the ribbon cutting ceremony will include KSC Center Director Roy
Bridges; District Director Brian Chase, attending on behalf of U.S.
Congressman David Weldon; and KSC’s Director of External Relations and
Business Development, JoAnn Morgan.
