HUNTSVILLE, Ala., April 12, 2012 -Dynetics officials announced today that Kimberly B. (Kim) Doering has joined the company as a technical director for the space division. A 28-year aerospace veteran, Doering has 13 years’ experience at NASA, where one of her roles was as deputy program manager of the Space Shuttle program.
Doering comes to Dynetics from United Space Alliance (USA) as vice president of United Space Alliance’s corporate business development and strategic planning, and vice president of Huntsville operations. Doering will manage advanced space transportation projects for Dynetics.
Prior to joining USA in 2008, Doering served as NASA’s deputy manager of the Space Shuttle Program, where she was responsible for the overall management, integration and operation of the Space Shuttle Program, including establishing and implementing program policy, directing and controlling scheduling, and directing the activities of a multidisciplinary workforce of more than 18,000 civil servants and contractors in the planning and execution of the Space Shuttle Program design.
Doering has also worked as the NASA lead for Space Station Manifest and International Partners Coordination, deputy manager for the ISS International Partners Office, deputy manager for Orbital Space Plane Spacecraft Vehicle Engineering, deputy manager for the ISS International Partners Office, deputy manager for Orbital Space Plane Vehicle Engineering, manager of the Space Shuttle Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) and Element Integration, and deputy manager of SE&I.
She has also worked as an aerospace engineer for Rockwell International, Hernandez Engineering and Booz, Allen & Hamilton.
Doering has received the NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal, the Superior Achievement Award, the Team Excellence Award, the Group Achievement Award and the Rotary Club Stellar Award.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
