HAMPTON, Va. – Visitors to NASA Langley Research Center’s open house on Saturday, Sept. 22, will have a chance to explore tomorrow, not only in the facility’s research labs, but with NASA’s Journey to Tomorrow trailer.
The traveling exhibit, coming from NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland for the 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. event, will offer participants a chance to experience a simulated lunar landing, compare the weight of a soda can on different planets, get the answers to questions about air and space travel and come see a moon rock.
A NASA “Home and City” exhibit in the 53-foot trailer highlights how our lives benefit from spinoffs created through NASA programs. A display case features models of future air and space craft, including NASA X-Planes, the Orion capsule and NASA’s new rocket, the Space Launch System.
The Journey to Tomorrow exhibit, which is free and open to the public, also will be at NASA Langley’s official visitor’s center, the Virginia Air & Space Center, on Friday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
