Don Brownlee to Retire Following Nearly 20 Years of Service
Aerojet President Scott Neish announced today that John D. Schumacher is joining Aerojet as vice president, Washington, D.C. Operations effective June 12. He will succeed Donald H. Brownlee, who has announced his plans to retire the end of this year following nearly 20 years in the Washington, D.C. office, the last four and one-half years as its head.
Schumacher’s 30-year career has encompassed a broad range of military, civil, and commercial experience. He was Chief of Staff for former NASA Administrator Sean O’Keefe from 2003-2005; and served as NASA’s Associate Administrator for External Relations from 1994-2003. His Naval service includes tours at sea and with both the Joint and Navy staffs. Most recently Schumacher was with Whitney, Bradley and Brown, where he was director, Aerospace Science and Technology. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Georgetown University, and Columbia Law School. He is also a member of the New York Bar.
Neish also announced the promotion of Anthony J. Ammendolia to Aerojet executive director, Government Relations from his current position as director of Business Development for Missile Defense and Strategic Systems. He will assist Schumacher in managing the daily interface between the Washington, D.C. Operations, Aerojet headquarters, and various Company field offices.
Ammendolia joined Aerojet in 1988 following a 23-year career in the U.S. Army, the last five in Washington, D.C. He held several program manager positions at Aerojet Headquarters in Sacramento, before moving to the Washington, D.C. office in 2004.
