Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that it has been has been awarded its first option year by NASA for its Manufacturing Support and Facility Operations Contract (MSFOC) at the George C. Marshall Space Flight Center’s Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans.
The option year has a potential value of $137 million.
MAF is managed by the Marshall Space Flight Center and provides a unique capability for manufacturing large aerospace structures at a single location. It has played a key role in the design, assembly and manufacture of the Space Shuttle external tank and continues to support the development and manufacture of hardware for future spaceflight programs.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Terry Hagen stated, “We are delighted to continue our support for NASA at Michoud and to have the opportunity to contribute to the future of U.S. space exploration.”
