Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (JEC) announced today that it has been awarded a third option year for its Facility Operations Service Contract (FOSC) at NASA’s Stennis Space Center (SSC) in Hancock County, Miss.

The option year award term is valued at $51.8 million. It is the third of seven award term periods following the three-year base period of the contract.

Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs supports NASA and SSC missions in the areas of administration, facility engineering, food, mail, fire protection, custodial, multimedia, public affairs and education. In addition, Jacobs provides facility maintenance and operations; safety, quality and environmental assurance; medical and occupational health; and logistics and transportation services.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Terry Hagen stated, “We are pleased to continue our work at Stennis Space Center, providing critical base operations and institutional services in support of earth science research and space exploration.”

SSC is NASA’s largest rocket propulsion testing ground, serving NASA, the Department of Defense, and the private sector. Originally built to test the Saturn V engine that put America on the moon, today it remains a premier site for testing rocket engines for future spaceflight programs.
