Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a modification to extend the Engineering and Science Services and Skills Augmentation (ESSSA) contract at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Ala.
The contract modification is for a one-year option with a potential value of $120 million. The option begins September 27, 2014 and extends through October 2, 2015.
Under the terms of the ESSSA contract, Jacobs provides science, engineering, and technician support with a staff of over 750 personnel at MSFC. Major programs supported by Jacobs at MSFC include the Space Launch System, International Space Station, James Webb Space Telescope, and numerous smaller space science and technology development projects.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Ward Johnson stated, “We are delighted to continue this vital relationship with NASA, a core client that is pushing the boundaries of space exploration. This contract modification enables us to maintain our long working relationship with Marshall Space Flight Center and to make important contributions to the next generation of space exploration systems.”
