Billing and Customer Care Platform Supports Service Provider Network

SchlumbergerSema, a business group of
Schlumberger Limited, today announced that Iridium Satellite LLC,
the only provider of global, mobile satellite voice and data solutions, has
successfully implemented SemaVision(TM) BSCS, Sema’s customer care and billing
platform, to support its global network of service providers.

“As Iridium’s data services become available, new applications will be
created,” said Gino Picasso, Chief Executive Officer of Iridium Satellite LLC.
“So it was important that we implemented a sophisticated billing platform
capable of scaling to new customer requirements.
SemaVision fulfills this
vital role.”

SemaVision BSCS was chosen by Iridium for its ability to quickly deliver
customer and billing information to its service providers. This includes
supporting Iridium’s competitive pricing model, which offers per-minute
billing with no additional charges for long distance or roaming, its handset-
to-handset capability and the company’s data services.

SemaVision BSCS is a proven end-to-end next generation customer care and
billing product for effectively managing convergent voice and data service
offerings.
Currently, Iridium utilizes SemaVision to invoice and deliver
ongoing customer traffic information to its service providers.
