Iridium CEO Appointed To Telecom Advisory Panel

Iridium Communications Chief Executive Matt Desch has been appointed to U.S. President Barack Obama’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC), the McLean, Va.-based mobile satellite services company announced May 25.

Some of the other satellite telecommunications and aerospace executives serving on the panel are Intelsat General President Kay Sears; Harris Corp. Chief Executive Howard Lance; Linda Gooden, Lockheed Martin executive vice president of information systems and global solutions; and Raytheon Co. Chairman and Chief Executive William Swanson.

The committee is a panel of telecommunications and technology industry executives that advises the president and other government leaders on security matters that relate to the nation’s telecommunications systems.
