With the Expedition Two crew members now in the third
month of their sojourn aboard the International Space Station
(ISS), NASA mission managers will discuss the crew’s recent
activities during a Mission Status Briefing, Thursday, May 17,
at 2 p.m. EDT.
Commander Yury Usachev and Flight Engineers Jim Voss and Susan
Helms are conducting tests of the recently delivered Canadarm2
robotic arm in preparation for the launch of the Joint Airlock
on the STS-104 mission aboard Atlantis next month. They also
are continuing a variety of scientific experiments.
Participants in Thursday’s briefing are John Curry, Lead STS-
100 ISS Flight Director, and Increment Two Scientist John Uri.
The briefing, originating from NASA’s Johnson Space Center,
Houston, TX, will be carried live on NASA Television and will
feature multi-center question-and-answer capability from
participating NASA centers.
NASA Television is available on GE-2, Transponder 9C at 85
degrees West longitude, vertical polarization, with a
frequency of 3880 MHz, and audio of 6.8 MHz.
