Integral Systems, Inc.
today announced that Loral Skynet has awarded the Company a contract to
provide the primary and backup control software for the Telstar 8 satellite.
The contract also requires for Integral to provide software responsible for
autonomous operations for the planning and execution of daily ion propulsion
maneuvers.
Telstar 8 will be the first of Space Systems/Loral’s new model
1300S series of satellites.
This will be the seventh Telstar satellite
operated with Integral’s EPOCH 2000 satellite control products.

Loral Skynet provides tracking, telemetry and control (TT&C) of satellite
fleets for a wide variety of customers using Integral’s EPOCH system.
Loral
Skynet performs TT&C functions for 15 satellites consisting of four different
types from three different satellite manufactures.
Telstar 8 will be the
fifth type of satellite in the fleet.
The fleet is entirely operated from a
single EPOCH 2000-based satellite control system provided by Integral Systems.
The EPOCH 2000 software provides Loral Skynet with real-time spacecraft
command and control, offline trending functions, as well as orbit analysis and
satellite navigation.
