Members of the news media planning to cover the Space
Shuttle Columbia’s mission to service the Hubble Space
Telescope during STS-109 should expect, and plan for, changes
in credential and escort procedures at NASA field centers,
including the Kennedy Space Center, Fla., the Johnson Space
Center in Houston, and the Dryden Flight Research Center,
Calif.
Media wishing to cover the launch, mission and landing should
contact each NASA center newsroom for specific application
and escort procedures. U.S. press should submit coverage
requests well in advance of the scheduled launch date, but no
later than the day before launch, which currently is
scheduled for Feb. 28.
Members of the foreign media, including U.S. free-lance media
supporting an international press organization, must submit
STS-109 launch coverage credential requests in writing a
minimum of two weeks prior to the scheduled launch. The
deadline for foreign press credential applications is Feb.
14. Any requests by international press after that date will
be declined.
